National Parks Week starts April 16, and that means free admission for everyone through April 24, plus special offers and deals at various National Parks around the country. So if you're headed to the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Yosemite, Yellowstone, etc., you'll save a few bucks.

Here on Long Island, there will be free admission to such sites as Sagamore Hill National Historic Site, as well as a guided Historic Area Trek around the Fire Island Lighthouse on Saturday. Meet at 8 a.m. at the east end in Field 5

Other National Park fee-free days this year will be on the first day of summer (June 21), Public Lands Day, Sept. 24; and the Veterans Day weekend, Nov. 11 to 13.
