Where to get free macarons on Macaron Day NYC

What’s better than the first day of spring in NYC? Macarons. Duh!
On Friday, March 20, those colorful and creamy French pastries will be given out for FREE at participating locations during NYC’s 6th annual Macaron Day.
NYC’s first ever Macaron day was in 2010 and was dreamed up by Francois Payard, the chef and owner of FP Patisserie, Francois Payard Bakery and Payard Patisserie & Bistro. It was inspired by and now coincides with Paris’ Jour du Macaron in Paris, where the pastry is also honored.
Each participating bakery will be giving out one macaron per customer. If you decide one of these mouthwatering pastries just isn’t enough, and you’re feeling good - many of these bakeries are donating a portion of their macaron sales to the non-profit organization, City Harvest, a food rescue organization in NYC.
