Great food and deal in Boston
The Taj Boston is serving up new winter menus with delicious prices. The hotel, which is offering rates of $149 a night through April 4, now has prix fixe specials for lunch and dinner in The Cafe, and deals on its afternoon teas and cheese tastings in The Lounge.
New prix menus for lunch and dinner at The Cafe offer two or three courses for $15 or $20 at lunch and $25 or $30 at dinner. Appetizers include soup of the day, Arugula and Blood Orange salad with pecans or Chickpea Sundal salad, a South Indian dish spiced with black mustard seeds and red chiles. Entrées include braised beef cheeks with mashed potatoes and Gremolata, seared salmon with sautéed fennel, basil and tomato Bouillabaisse sauce and other tasty dishes.
Afternoon Tea is served on Saturday and Sunday from 2 - 4 p.m. at The Lounge.
Tea includes exclusive teas, herbal infusions, wine, cocktails, tea sandwiches, canapés, sweet pastries and petit fours for $32 a person; accompanied by sparkling wine or Champagne for $43 or $52 a person. The Duchess offers a selection of sweet pastries and petit fours with your choice of tea for $24 per person; accompanied by sparkling wine or Champagne for $35 or $44 per person.
The traditional cheese tastings include hard and soft cheeses with baguette, crackers and fresh and dried fruits and serves two to three for $22. Red and white wines, Champagne cocktails, four signature cocktail teas are also offered, such as the Hot Toddy. Price: $14 per serving or $50 per teapot (four servings).
