Coming full circle today via social media: Starwood Hotels just started offering rewards to foursquare users. In a feat of social media magic, I caught wind of this new loyalty club bonus via the Starwood Preferred Guest Twitter feed yesterday: "Checking-in just got even more rewarding. Link your SPG acct with foursquare and earn bonus Starpoints, visit http://bit.ly/SPG4Square."
All you have to do is visit the Starwood Preferred Guest page and sync up your foursquare account. You'll then be privy to deals like these:
Travelers earn 250 Starpoints when they check into a confirmed reservation at one of 1000-plus participating hotels in nearly 100 countries. (May to July)
One lucky check-in will unlock a Free Resort Night Award, which will be hidden across one of 1,000-plus participating hotels every day. (May)
