Passengers will feel the stretch on a new breed of Delta seats that takes the cramp out of flying.

Starting this summer, the carrier will offer Economy Comfort on long-haul international flights. The premium class of seats, to be installed in the first few rows of economy, boast four additional inches of legroom and 50 percent more recline - and free cocktails.

Cost is $80 to $160 one way, plus the regular coach fare. Ticket-holders can also board early.

The new class of seats could prove to be a valuable perk to members of the airline's frequent flier program - Delta says it will accommodate highest-ranking frequent fliers and travelers on full-fare tickets in Economy Comfort without any extra charge, and lower-ranking elite frequent fliers will pay less.

The airline is not planning to add such seats to planes used on domestic routes.
