Who said holiday shopping has to be a chore? New York City offers top-notch holiday markets, one-stop shopping paradises that feature local vendors and artisans with handcrafted and vintage goods.

COLUMBUS CIRCLE HOLIDAY MARKET
In its 13th year, this picturesque holiday market offers opportunities for shoppers to lose themselves in aisles of art, jewelry, home goods and more. After perusing the wares, make it a day with a stroll through nearby Central Park. The market stays open later closer to Christmas.

UNION SQUARE HOLIDAY MARKET
This European-style market run by the group behind Columbus Circle is tailored for families, with a kids’ station offering creative classes and art experiences. A wonderland of winding aisles, the market features more than 100 vendors selling eclectic gifts created by local craftspeople and artists.The market stays open later closer to Christmas.

WINTER VILLAGE AT BRYANT PARK MARKET
The only market to feature free ice skating (on a 17,000-square-foot outdoor rink), the Winter Village also has restaurants, a big Christmas tree and an event space. It also features hundreds of boutique-style shops nestled in the park’s tree-lined lanes. Shop for everything from locally produced apparel to jewelry, one-of-a-kind decorative goods and an expanded selection of foodstuffs. Shops stay open later closer to Christmas.

GRAND CENTRAL TERMINAL HOLIDAY FAIR
If winter’s al fresco markets leave you cold, warm up at this indoor market offering a full complement of holiday goods. Vendors focus on American-made and handmade products with locally sourced materials or a socially conscious business model. This year, it will offer about 40 vendors for almost six weeks selling artwork, clothing, accessories, toys and home goods.

ASTORIA MARKET HOLIDAY MARKETS
One of the city’s last original beer gardens, Bohemian Hall was built more than a century ago by Czech immigrants and now hosts the Astoria Market’s holiday markets, which feature artists, bakers and designers from Queens and beyond. Shop for vintage merchandise from such vendors as Astoria-based Strung Out Jewelry, Bridy Crawford Designs and Framiati, among others. Patrons can nosh on seasonal nibbles as well.
