The Transportation Security Administration this week debuted the new high-tech body scanners at Newark Liberty International Airport, on the heels of those recently installed at Kennedy Airport's Terminal 8.

The machines create a computerized image of a person's body and give screeners the ability to check for weapons. There currently are more than 300 of them in use at 65 airports around the country.

TSA plans to have only 450 deployed nationwide by the end of the year, meaning that for most travelers, the trip through security will continue to look much like it has for years.
