Summer weather sticks around on Long Island well past Labor Day, but so do two-night minimums at many hotels. Still, some boutique properties are allowing guests to book just one night this September, while others offer one-night stays when availability allows.

Newsday checked with local boutique hotels to find out where travelers can book a single night this September.

Offshore Montauk

71 S. Emerson Ave., Montauk; offshoremontauk.com, 631-542-5030

A rare find in hot-spot Montauk, where many hotels, including Gurney’s Montauk, Montauk Manor, Montauk Yacht Club and Sole East, require two- to three-night minimum stays in September, Offshore Montauk is allowing one-night bookings later in the month, depending on occupancy. The first week of September has a two-night minimum. Weekend rates start between $650 to $700, while weekday rates start around $300.

The 45-room hotel sits on Kirk Park Beach across from John’s Drive-In in downtown Montauk and offers an outdoor pool, spa, steam room, red light therapy, 24-hour fitness center and complimentary bikes. The Montauk Point Lighthouse is about a 10-minute drive.

The Northport Hotel is open to one-night bookings through next August. The property will implement a two-night minimum stay requirement starting next year, but no restriction is in place currently. Rates are $650 on weekends and $530 on weekdays.

The 26-room boutique hotel includes a 175-seat restaurant serving steak, seafood and Italian-inspired dishes, along with a private lounge for guests. It sits on Main Street in the heart of Northport Village, just steps from the harbor and directly across from the John W. Engeman Theater.

At the Garden City Hotel, minimum-stay requirements are reserved for holidays and special events at the property, but September offers no restrictions. Guests can book rooms for one night only starting at $480 per night on weekends and $300 weekdays.

The 269-room hotel includes Red Hots Spa, an indoor pool, a 24-hour fitness center and dining from celebrity chef David Burke, including the Red Salt Room and King Bar. Just steps from the hotel, guests can stroll through the shops and restaurants of downtown Garden City, while Roosevelt Field mall and Eisenhower Park are a short drive away.

Allegria Hotel

80 W. Broadway, Long Beach; allegriahotelny.com, 516-889-1300

A one-night minimum stay is not required at Allegria in Long Beach in September, with rates at $450 per night on weekends and $300 on weekdays.

The oceanfront hotel sits directly on the Long Beach boardwalk, with a seasonal rooftop pool, direct beach access and dining at Atlantica Restaurant and L'Onda Lounge. Guests also get complimentary beach chairs and towels.

Journey East Hampton

490 Pantigo Rd., East Hampton; journeyeasthampton.com, 631-324-4550

At Journey East Hampton, guests can book any single night on a weekend this September. Weekend rates run $700, with weekday stays at $300.

The boutique property, set between the villages of East Hampton and Amagansett, offers 22 rooms plus three private cottages, a heated saltwater pool, an infrared sauna, a fire pit lounge and complimentary bikes for guests looking to pedal into town or down to the beach.
