Support breast cancer research, earn miles
Airlines are getting pretty creative with their mileage programs. From partnering with credit cards, restaurants and utility companies to the lucrative "double dipping" strategy offered by Hilton HHonors, there are now many more ways besides globe trekking to earn miles.
One that caught my attention this morning was American Airlines' AAdvantage program, which has partnered with several charities, among them the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Through the end of the year, every dollar donated to the breast cancer fund will get you double AAdvantage miles -- ten instead of the usual five. There's a $25 minimum donation in order to earn miles.
