Motorists en route to Yosemite National Park can now listen to narrated information about the sights and sounds along Highway 140 from Mariposa and Highway 41 from Oakhurst.

Last year, Yosemite Audio Adventures released several Yosemite audio driving tours originating from the Groveland (Highway 120) entrance to Yosemite National Park.

The audios are synchronized to speed limits, providing travelers with facts and useful information. They also offer details about the park's history, policies, hiking trails and bear management.

The audios are designed to help travelers make the best use their travel time and customize their experience.

From Mariposa, the audio includes music and sound effects for motorists following the Merced River. It also offers stories about the Savage Trading Post site, the Hite Cove wildflower trail and the Ferguson landslide.

From Oakhurst, the audio builds up to the Wawona Tunnel, where an overlook provides a stunning first view of Yosemite Valley.

Cost is $10.95 for an MP3 audio download with a printable PDF guide, or $15.95 for an audio CD with a 12-page booklet. Available at yosemite-tours.org.
