Nimsoft Inc., a California subsidiary of CA Technologies, on Tuesday announced a new software product, what it called a new “see as you go — pay as you go”.

The Nimsoft Monitoring Solution and Nimsoft On Demand software is marketed for internet service providers. The software meters the moment-to-moment use of bandwidth and other products supplied to an ISP’s customers.

CA, of Islandia, bought Nimsoft this spring for $350 million, as part of its plan to beef up its cloud computing offerings. Cloud computing refers to flexible, cost-saving subscription plans allowing clients to use — and pay for — variable amounts of data storage, software and other resources on the Internet, as needed.
