A Chipotle Mexican Grill will open at the former American Roadside in Smithtown in 2026, the company confirmed Thursday.

New signage hanging above the entrance of the old burger joint urges future customers to "Get hungry," ahead of a yet to be determined opening date for the Tex-Mex chain's latest Long Island location.

Two other locations in Long Beach and Hempstead are slated to open next year as well, said company spokeswoman Annie Gradinger.

The news comes after a successful third quarter, in which — despite economic headwinds — the company saw total revenue reach $3 billion, a 7.5% increase compared to the same quarter last year.

The increase was driven by a slight rise increase in restaurant sales and by the opening of 84 company-owned restaurants in the third quarter.

"While we continue to see persistent macroeconomic pressures, our extraordinary value proposition and brand strength remain strong," said company CEO Scott Boatwright in a news release. "Our best-in-class teams are focused on doubling down on restaurant execution, sharpening our marketing message, accelerating menu innovation and creating more engaging digital experiences to ensure we emerge stronger and get back to driving positive transaction growth."

The company repurchased $686.5 million of stock shares in the third quarter as well, at an average price of $42.39 each.

Chipotle has announced plans to discuss fourth quarter and full fiscal year results for 2025 on Feb. 3, 2026.

The chain has around 3,900 locations around the world, including 238 in New York and 36 across Long Island.
