Intellicheck Inc., whose identification authentication systems are used by corporate, military and law enforcement customers, has named financial services industry veteran Bryan Lewis as the company’s president and chief executive.

Lewis is scheduled to begin leading the publicly traded Jericho company on Feb. 21.

“We are extraordinarily excited about Bryan Lewis joining Intellicheck,” Vice Adm. Michael Malone (ret.), chairman of the board of directors, said in a statement issued Wednesday. “He brings the ideal skill for leading us to explosive growth.”

From 2013 to 2017, Lewis was the chief operating officer of Third Bridge Inc., a provider of market information to private equity and hedge funds. Previously he was an executive at BondDesk, Reuters, Barra and Bloomberg.

“When you combine the company’s industry-leading technology solutions with the amazingly talented people at Intellicheck, the company is extremely well positioned,” Lewis said in a statement.

He will receive a base salary of $250,000 per year plus benefits, according to a government filing. He also is eligible to earn an additional $125,000 within 90 days based on performance benchmarks.

In October, William Roof, who had served as president and CEO for three years, agreed to retire at the request of the board of directors.

At that time, the company named chief financial officer Bill White as interim CEO. White will continue his CFO duties when Lewis begins work, the company said.

In the quarter ended Sept. 30 Intellicheck posted a net loss of $1.1 million, or 8 cents per diluted share, on revenue of $966,690. That compared to a net loss of $726,922, or 7 cents per diluted share, on revenue of $1.2 million in the prior year’s period.
