LIA fires back at Obama middle-class tax plan
After President Barack Obama's call Monday for an extention of the Bush-era tax cuts only for families that make less than $250,000 a year , the Long Island Association said that the president may just not understand Long Island and how much it costs to live here.
LIA President Kevin Law released the following statement regarding Obama's announcement:
“President Obama’s proposal for a one year extension of the Bush tax cuts for people making less than $250,000 is out of touch with the high cost of living on Long Island and would result in a huge tax increase for Long Island’s middle class families. We need to protect and promote our middle class and extend tax cuts to all in order to help the struggling economy.”
