Richard J. Murphy of Mount Sinai has been appointed to the board of trustees of the Healthcare Association of New York State in Rensselaer. He is president and chief executive of South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside.

Marc Wortsman of Merrick has been appointed Northeast region advisory board president at Canine Companions for Independence. He recently retired as executive vice president and general manager at Marden-Kane Integrated Promotion Marketing Solutions in Woodbury.

The Association of BellTel Retirees in Cold Spring Harbor has announced two new appointments.

John Brennan of Hillsdale, New Jersey, has been named president of the board at the association. He managed labor relations at Bell Atlantic in Newark when he retired in 1991.

Jack Cohen of Yorktown Heights has been named chairman of the board at the association. He was budget staff manager at NYNEX in Manhattan when he retired in 1994.
