BOARDS and ASSOCIATIONS
Jennifer B. Cona has been appointed to the board of trustees at the Long Island Alzheimer's Foundation. The Cold Spring Harbor resident is managing partner at the Melville-based elder law and estate planning firm Genser Dubow Genser & Cona.
EDUCATION
Rommel Robertson has joined Farmingdale State College as an assistant professor in the psychology department. The Brooklyn resident was an adjunct lecturer at Brooklyn College.
Portledge School in Locust Valley announced two new hires. Christina Villecco of Forest Hills has been named advancement associate. Before joining Portledge School the Forest Hills resident worked for Steve Madden as a merchandiser. Stephanie Avidon has been named manager of communications. The Syosset resident had her own consulting business before joining the school.
FINANCE
Burton Relethford has joined Hauppauge-based North Shore Financial Group, a Met Life office, as financial services representative. He is a recent graduate of the State University of New York at Oneonta and lives in Medford.
GOVERNMENT
George Goode has been promoted to assistant laboratory director for environment, safety & health at the U.S. Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory. The Riverhead resident has been in the position on an interim basis since February. Before that, he was manager of the environmental protection division.
HEALTH CARE
Justin Szypot has joined Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Sayville as assistant administrator. The East Northport resident was project manager for Catholic Health Services of Long Island.
LAW
Dorothy Miller has joined Duffy & Duffy in Uniondale as an associate. The Oceanside resident recently graduated from St. John's University School of Law.
Daniel H. Braff has joined Sahn Ward Coschignano & Baker of Uniondale as counsel. The Manhattan resident was project executive at The Beechwood Organization in Jericho.
Leora F. Ardizzone has joined Ruskin Moscou Faltischek of Uniondale in its health law regulatory and transactional departments and the health care professionals and medical device practice groups. She was senior associate counsel to Catholic Health Services and lives in Lake Ronkonkoma.
Jack L. Libert has joined Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo, Cohn & Terrana in Uniondale as counsel in the real estate department. The Oyster Bay resident was commissioner of the department of public works for the Town of Oyster Bay.
REAL ESTATE
Roseann Torti has joined Corcoran's Southampton office as a salesperson. She held a similar position at Prudential Douglas Elliman in Locust Valley and lives in Eastport.
