In the United States, Flag Day is celebrated on June 14th to commemorate the adoption of the Flag of the United States, which happened on June 14, 1777. Flag Day is a perfect day to take a moment from your busy life and reflect on what the U.S. flag means to you.

ROSELAND, N.J. (PRWEB) June 14, 2018

Annin Flagmakers, a Made in America and family owned business, has been making the U.S. flag since 1847 but began as a ships chandler in 1820. Steeped in the history of our nation for over 171 years, we celebrate Flag Day by recognizing our employees for their long- standing service to the company.

Many of our nations leaders, over the course of history, have shared their thoughts about Flag Day:

  • Ronald Reagan, 40th President of the United States, stated “when we honor our flag we honor what we stand for as a Nation- freedom, equality, justice and hope”.
  • Condoleezza Rice served as the 66th United States Secretary of State said that “the essence of America – that which really unites us – in not ethnicity or nationality or religion – it is an idea – and what an idea it is: that you can come from humble circumstances and do great things”.
  • Oliver Wendell Holmes, one of the most famous Supreme Court Justices said simply, “One flag, one land, one heart, one hand, one nation evermore”.
  • Adrian Cronauer, a former United States Air Force sergeant and radio personality and DJ in Vietnam inspired the 1987 fil Good Morning, Vietnam state, “the American Flag represents all of us and the values we hold sacred”.

Flag Day is a perfect day to take a moment from your busy life and reflect on what the U.S. flag means to you. Here are some things you can do:

  • Buy a Veteran a coffee or a meal as a sign of appreciation for their service
  • Fly your flag high and proud
  • Create a Flag Day themed desert for school, home or office
  • Check your community for local Flag Day celebrations to attend
