Bankers Association Reduces Conference Expenses and Improves Advocacy Efforts with App from MobileUp Software
Kansas Bankers Association leverages rise in smartphone usage to enhance communications and increase engagement with its membership
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (PRWEB) May 10, 2018
The Kansas Bankers Association (KBA), a customer of MobileUp Software, has used a smartphone app to reduce conference-related expenses and increase member involvement in the association’s advocacy efforts.
The KBA is one of many associations that are capitalizing on recent trends in smartphone usage where studies show nearly 80% of US adults own the device and spend more than two hours per day using apps.
To enhance communications with its members, the KBA initially deployed its custom-branded app from MobileUp Software to manage conference information for its various events across Kansas each year.
“The app is our stand-alone resource,” said Mary Taylor, Vice President, Marketing, at the KBA. “We don’t print many manuals anymore. All of our handouts, our speakers, and our sponsors are in the app.”
The KBA re-purposes the content in the app for each event, preventing members from having to download a new app for each conference.
“It’s good when you go to the app stores that there aren’t a bunch of Kansas Bankers apps,” said Sharon Iverson, Vice President, Communications at the KBA. “From the bankers’ perspectives, that would be very confusing as to which one of those is the one they are supposed to download for a particular conference.”
The KBA app also includes continuing education resources, networking opportunities through member directories and discussions, and membership management features.
For advocacy issues, the app provides contact information for state legislators that members use directly from the app.
“When our members find who their state legislator is in the app, they have the email address and phone number right there and can use the native function in the phone to either call or email them,” Iverson said. “They don’t have to remember it and back out of the app or copy and paste. It’s nice they can reach out straight from the app.”
The KBA is one of numerous associations and not-for-profits who use the MobileUp Software platform to manage apps that engage their membership.
“The MobileUp platform enables associations to have one branded app that can be used 365 days a year,” said Tom DeBacco, CEO and Chairman of MobileUp Software. “From conference management to mobile payments for renewals, we have included the features associations need to properly serve their members and realize a solid return on their investment in a mobile strategy.”
