Chicago, IL (PRWEB) November 28, 2013

Chicago-made brand Treasure Island Foods is proud to announce its 50th anniversary with the grand reopening of its newly renovated Elm St. store. Festivities kickoff with a formal ribbon cutting on December 7, 2013 with Alderman Brendan Reilly at 12 PM and continue until December 15, 2013.

Customers who visit the 75 W. Elm St. location during the grand reopening week will have a chance to win a $500 shopping spree, product giveaways, sports tickets and will be greeted with complimentary tastings.

“We are inviting Chicagoans to come see the new face of Treasure Island Foods,” said Christ Kamberos Jr., Treasure Island Foods' Vice President of Development. “This is a very exciting time for us. This launch kicks off a new era for our brand as we continue to transform and create a unique shopping experience for Chicagoans.”

The new face of Treasure Island Foods maintains its wide variety of foods including all natural, imported & specialty items, an outstanding selection of conventional & organic produce and high quality meats. However, additions have been made to create an environment that’s not just about eating, but about evolving the shopping experience into a culinary journey.

Additions include an authentic oven fired pizzeria and piadinaria presented by head Chef Fiorenza, a humidity controlled dry aged meat chamber, an expanded seafood section and a large variety of homemade prepared foods. There’s a meticulous attention to detail—like the new “pour your own” program, which sources olive oils from small artisanal farmers around the world. Stations such as a “make your own” nut butter and granola add to the evolving culinary experience. An expanded selection of local and homemade products also reminds customers to “eat real” by shopping at their local Treasure Island Foods.

“Our new concept will show Chicagoans the benefits of shopping local with Treasure Island Foods. We have been serving Chicago for 50 years, and this is just a taste of what the next 50 will look like,” said Christ Kamberos Jr.
