Co-sponsored by The California Endowment and the Santa Fe University of Art and Design, in past years Oscar, Grammy, Golden Globe, Latin Grammy, Emmy, ALMA, BET, and NAACP Image Award winners and nominees have joined international scholars from some of the world’s top universities as presenters and commentators.

Long Beach Indie includes three components: the LBI International Film Festival, the LBI Film, Media and Music Conference, and the LBI College and Career Fair.

“At Long Beach Indie we celebrate content and content creators, create a forum for dialogue between the entertainment industry and scholars, and expose youth to the myriad of career possibilities in arts and entertainment,” says founder and director Dr. Daniel E. Walker.

Taking place at the Long Beach Convention Center, the Cinemark at the Pike Theaters, the Renaissance Hotel Long Beach, and the Long Beach Hilton, presenters enjoy world premiere film screenings, forums, music showcases, panels, concerts, parties, and miles of beautiful beaches and picturesque harbors.
