Rhode Island Medical Imaging has acquired Radiology Associates, resulting in a total of 11 outpatient imaging centers in Rhode Island.

East Providence, RI (PRWEB) October 22, 2015

Rhode Island Medical Imaging (RIMI) is pleased to announce the acquisition of Radiology Associates, a well known radiology practice in Rhode Island since 1974 that is greatly respected for its outstanding mammography services and close relationships with the referring physician community. The new RIMI locations as a result of this acquisition are located in East Providence at the Metacomet Office Park, in Providence at the Bayside Medical Center, and in Warwick on Centerville Road. RIMI now has a total of 11 outpatient imaging centers throughout Rhode Island.

“The opportunity to join Rhode Island Medical Imaging is the best thing for our patients,” says Vincent DeCesaris, MD, president of Radiology Associates. “My partners and I have built this practice from the ground up and pride ourselves with providing exceptional service for the people of Rhode Island and their physicians. Joining RIMI was a logical choice for us given our shared focus on quality of care and the challenges smaller medical groups now face in the current healthcare environment. Both groups have been part of the Rhode Island healthcare community for many years, and we expect this to continue well into the future.”

According to John Pezzullo, MD, president of Rhode Island Medical Imaging, “RIMI is very excited to have Dr. DeCesaris join our practice and assist with the integration of these two companies. Radiology Associates has a wonderful reputation for mammography services – evident in the experienced and compassionate technologists and clinical staff. We are humbled by the loyalty patients have for the mammography services at Radiology Associates, and we hope to earn the trust that will allow patients to continue their care with RIMI.”

The transition will take place over the upcoming weeks with the formal changeover from Radiology Associates to RIMI occurring during the first week of December. RIMI intends to keep the three Radiology Associates locations operational, although the service lines offered at each location may change. Patients who have had previous exams at Radiology Associates will be able to call RIMI scheduling and make appointments and seamlessly have their previous records available.

In 2014, the American College of Radiology (ACR) named Rhode Island Medical Imaging one of the first outpatient diagnostic imaging Centers of Excellence (DICOE) in the country. This award recognizes a distinctive level of excellence in diagnostic imaging and offers recipients the unique ability to set the benchmark for superior quality diagnostic imaging.

RIMI is committed to providing world class, state-of-the art diagnostic imaging services to the people of Rhode Island via easily accessible and convenient outpatient locations.
