Upon launch, NYC Rental Startup Agrees To (Never) Sell To Competitor
NYC apartment rental startup frēlē launches with a 4 point pledge which includes a promise to never sell to a certain competitor.
(PRWEB) April 19, 2018
The new online rental marketplace frēlē, rooted in openness and transparency, has launched in NYC. The website will be in beta in a few weeks.
Along with the launch of frēlē is the announcement of a 4 Point Pledge. All four points in the pledge are a direct reaction to business practices from the leading competitors in the NYC "apartments for rent" listings space. The four points are:
1. TRANSPARENCY ABOVE ALL ELSE. The primary mission is to bring more transparency to the real estate marketplace even at the cost of revenue and profits.
2. ALWAYS FREE TO LIST. It will always be free to list an apartment on frēlē’s website because the company believes a real estate marketplace should be open to all, not just those who pay.
3. DIRECT AND FREE CONTACT WITH THE LISTER. Users will always be able to interact directly and easily with the lister of the apartment for free.
4. WILL NEVER SELL TO CERTAIN COMPETITORS. To demonstrate strong opposition to the way certain competitors treat their customers, frēlē promises it will never sell to them.
The frēlē website is based on the belief that a real estate marketplace should function as “freely” as possible. However, recent monopolistic behavior by competitors has made this difficult. Therefore, according to founder Phil Horigan, “frēlē’s primary mission is to honor the integrity of the real estate marketplace first. Everything else - including making money - comes second."
The company expects that thousands of residential apartments for rent will be posted by tenants, landlords and agents. All types of apartment rentals will be listed, including standard 12 month rentals, short term rentals, leasebreaks, lease assignments, sublets, and shares.
As a NYC real estate agent for the past 14 years and the founder of the leading short term rental website in NYC (Leasebreak.com), frēlē’s founder, Phil Horigan, has been an outspoken critic of the way certain competitors treat their customers. Over the last year he has been covering these topics extensively in his blog flowfreely as well as through his Instagram profile. Phil vows to bring transparency back to NYC real estate.
