What does it cost to be upper class on Long Island, New York, the United States?

If you're looking for how to become rich or improve your standard of living, one option is to move to a place with a lower cost of living. How much do you have to make to be considered upper class in Nassau, Suffolk and the rest of the United States?

A recent Planet Money report on NPR looked at what it takes to be above the top 75 percent of earners in a given area. The U.S. median household income may be $64,000, but, according to the Census Bureau, it takes a household income of $107,000 to be in the top 25 percent of earners.
