Daniel Viola has been appointed director of information technology at Empire National Bank in Islandia. The Coram resident previously was a business intelligence delivery manager for Citibank.

Michael Tiliakos has joined the Manhattan law firm of Duane Morris as partner. The Manhasset resident previously was co-founder and partner at the law firm Rao Tiliakos, which had offices in Manhattan and San Francisco.
The law firm of Kirschenbaum & Kirschenbaum in Garden City has announced two new hires.
Jesse Kirschenbaum, of Weston, Conn., has been hired as a summer law clerk. Jesse currently is a student at Brooklyn Law School.
Jeffrey Slavin, of Bridgeport, Conn., has been hired as an associate in the firm's commercial litigation department. He previously worked as a legal intern for the District of Connecticut in Bridgeport.
