BOARD APPOINTMENTS
The YMCA of Long Island has announced new corporate board of directors members. They include John J. Bishar, general counsel of Arbor Commercial Mortgage and a Garden City resident; Melissa Kane Connolly, vice president, university relations at Hofstra University and a Malverne resident; and Douglas C. Manditch, chairman, chief executive, and founder of Empire National Bank and a St. James resident.

Christopher J. Kutner, a partner at the Uniondale law firm Farrell Fritz PC, has been appointed a member of the Farmingdale State College Foundation Board. He is a Rockville Centre resident. 

Bruce W. Migatz, a Port Washington resident, has been elected to the board of directors of Vision Long Island, a nonprofit organization that educates, advocates and provides technical assistance on smart-growth projects. Migatz is a partner in the Garden City law firm of Albanese & Albanese.

FINANCE
Steven D. Brett has been named president of Marcum Financial Services, a division of the Marcum Group. The Jericho residentwas lead financial advisor with the global private client group at Merrill Lynch.

Ridgewood Savings Bank has announced three promotions. Wantagh resident Geraldine Brennan has been promoted to senior vice president and auditor from vice president and auditor. Ann Freese of Franklin Square has been promoted to vice president, risk and technology from assistant vice president. Gregory Hrycak, a Valley Stream resident, has been promoted to vice president and commercial lending officer from assistant vice president and commercial lending officer.

HEALTH CARE
Bhuma Krishnamachari has been named director of clinical genetics in the biology department at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University in Brookville. The Manhattan resident was director of genetic services at Edward Hospital in Naperville, Ill.

MUSEUMS
Tiffany Jordan has joined the Hofstra University Museum as development and membership coordinator. The West Babylon resident was development coordinator at Buckley Country Day School in Roslyn.

NONPROFITS
Shawn Mason has been named a commissioner at the Nassau County Commission on Human Rights. The Great Neck resident is a residential real estate appraiser on Long Island and in New York City. 

Jack O'Connell, special adviser to the president and chief executive of the NuHealth System, has been elected chairman of the board of directors of the Empire Justice Center, an organization that provides legal services for low-income persons throughout New York State. O'Connell is a Brooklyn resident.

REAL ESTATE
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage has announced two promotions. Bill McCartney has been named manager of the Ronkonkoma office. The Levittown resident was manager of the Bellmore office of Coldwell Banker. Darlene Forte has been named manager of the Bellmore office after serving as a top associate in Coldwell Banker's Huntington office. She resides in Huntington.
