BOARDS & ASSOCIATIONS
Sharyn O'Mara has been appointed to the board of directors at Public Relations Professionals of Long Island where she will co-chair the marketing/publicity/social media committee. The Wantagh resident is the public relations director at the Great Neck law firm of Wisselman, Harounian and Associates.
Dr. Michael H. Brisman has been elected president of the Nassau County Medical Society. In addition to associations with other Long Island health care facilities, the Old Westbury resident's primary role is senior partner at Neurological Surgery based in Rockville Centre.
The Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center in East Hills announced new board members. Debra Buslik of Roslyn has been elected president. Mitchell L. Jacobson is chairman of MSC Industrial Direct in Melville and lives in Lattingtown.
FINANCE
Joan Bierbower Kaye has joined the Jericho wealth management firm First Long Island Investors as vice president, business development. The Laurel Hollow resident co-founded Meredith, Martin & Kaye, an investment advisory firm in Manhattan, which was eventually sold to UBS.
GOVERNMENT
James Miskiewicz has been named acting chief of the organized crime and racketeering section of the U.S. Atorney's office in Brooklyn. He was most recently deputy chief of the Long Island division.
HEALTH CARE
Douglas Fullerton has been promoted to director of environmental services at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip. The Bay Shore resident was promoted from coordinator of environmental services. His new role will include responsibility for patient transport, and the new division will be called the department of environmental and transport service.

Warren H. Richmond III of Northport has joined Harris Beach in Uniondale as a partner. He had been a partner at Ingerman Smith in Hauppauge.

Barbara Bianchini has joined the Smithtown office of RE/MAX Beyond as an associate broker. She held a similar position at Dix Hills Prudential Douglas Elliman and lives in Commack.
RELIGION
Sarene Appelbaum has joined Temple Beth Torah in Melville as cantor. The Dix Hills resident was cantor at Congregation B'nai Israel in Boca Raton, Fla.
