Ilene S. Cooper has been named to the steering committee of the Long Island advisory board of Friends of Karen, a nonprofit that provides emotional, financial and advocacy support to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. She is a partner at the Uniondale law firm of Farrell Fritz and lives in Huntington.

Donald Karabaich of Greenlawn has been promoted from senior manager to partner at Margolin, Winer & Evens in Garden City.
Kevin M. Blakeney has joined the reverse division of Associated Mortgage Bankers in Garden City as vice president of sales. The Huntington resident held a similar position at Senior Lending Network in Melville.
Sean Lane has joined U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management in Melville as senior vice president and team lead-private client adviser. The Garden City resident was senior vice president and head of the U.S. private banking group at Bank Hapoalim in Manhattan.
R.S. Abrams & Co. in Islandia announced three employee promotions: Kristen D. Feldman was promoted from senior auditor to audit manager and lives in Bay Shore. Katherine F. Klein was promoted from senior auditor to audit manager and is a South Setauket resident. Daniel J. Ruckdeschel of Farmingdale was promoted from senior auditor to audit manager.

Janine Logan has been appointed director of communications for the Suburban Hospital Alliance, the joint advocacy arm of the Northern Metropolitan Hospital Association and the Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council. The Babylon resident had been communications director at NSHC since 2002.
Dr. Harold L. Rekate has been appointed director of the Chiari Institute within the North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center's department of neurosurgery. Rekate of Locust Manor was chairman of pediatric neurosciences and chief of pediatric neurosurgery at the Barrow Neurological Institute, part of St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix.

James P. Miccio has joined Ulster Insurance Services in Riverhead, an Ulster Savings Bank division, as an insurance account executive. He owned James P. Miccio Insurance Agency in East Setauket, where he also lives.

Christopher A. Bianco has joined the Patchogue law firm of Egan & Golden as a litigation associate. Previously, he interned with U.S. District Court Judge Joseph F. Bianco of the Eastern District of New York and is a Hicksville resident.

Connie Villamor has been promoted to operations manager at Dri Mark Products in Port Washington, a manufacturer of security marking systems, markers, highlighters, and writing instruments. She was most recently production manager and lives in Bayville.

Ted Trias has joined Rechler Equity Partners in Melville as director of acquisitions and leasing. The Manhattan resident was senior executive director at Colliers International LI (formerly Sutton & Edwards) in Lake Success.
