 The Firemen's Association of the State of <a href="/topics//New_York_(state)">New York</a> has announced two appointments. Robert McConville, of <a href="/topics//Selden,_NY">Selden</a>, has been elected first vice president. He has been a state emergency medical technician for 27 years and is a 30-year member of the <a href="/topics//Selden,_NY">Selden</a> Fire Department. Robert Ottaviano, of <a href="/topics//Glen_Head,_NY">Glen Head</a>, has been elected a director. He is a certified public accountant and a 17-year member of the Glenwood Hook and Ladder, Engine &amp; Hose Co. 
 Steven Kuperschmid has been appointed to the board of the <a href="/topics//Long_Island,_NY">Long Island</a> Committee of ACG <a href="/topics//New_York_(state)">New York</a>, an association for middle-market deal-making professionals. The <a href="/topics//West_Hills,_NY">West Hills</a> resident is a partner at Certilman Balin Adler &amp; Hyman in <a href="/topics//East_Meadow,_NY">East Meadow</a>. 
 EDUCATION 
 Patricia Loewe has been appointed new education leader at the Child Development Center of the Hamptons. She was director for pupil personnel services for the <a href="/topics//Montauk,_NY">Montauk</a> Union Free School District and lives in <a href="/topics//Springs,_NY">Springs</a>, an <a href="/topics//East_Hampton,_NY">East Hampton</a> hamlet. 
 FINANCE 
 Catherine Giamundo has joined Empire National Bank as assistant controller and vice president and is working at the <a href="/topics//Islandia,_NY">Islandia</a> branch. The <a href="/topics//Commack,_NY">Commack</a> resident was accounting manager at People's United Bank in <a href="/topics//Smithtown,_NY">Smithtown</a>. 
 PUBLISHING 
 Michael Castonguay has been appointed president and chief operating officer of Anton Community Newspapers in <a href="/topics//Mineola,_NY">Mineola</a>. The Massapequa resident was recently chief financial officer at the <a href="/topics//Long_Island,_NY">Long Island</a> Press in Syosset. 
 HEALTH CARE 
 Dr. Todd Griffin, chief medical officer for <a href="/topics//Stony_Brook_University">Stony Brook University</a> Hospital, has been appointed chair of the department of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive medicine at <a href="/topics//Stony_Brook_University">Stony Brook University</a> School of Medicine. He lives in St. James. 
 Dr. Ramin Parsey has been appointed professor and chair of the department of psychiatry and behavioral science at <a href="/topics//Stony_Brook_University">Stony Brook University</a> School of Medicine and director of positron emission tomography research. The Miller Place resident was professor of psychiatry at Columbia University and director of the brain imaging core of the Silvio O. Conte Center for the Neurobiology of Mental Disorders at the <a href="/topics//New_York_(state)">New York</a> State Psychiatric Institute, both in Manhattan. 
 Dr. Pey-Jen Yu has joined the department of cardiothoracic surgery at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. The Manhattan resident recently completed her fellowship at <a href="/topics//New_York_(state)">New York</a> University.

 Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty has hired two new sales agents. Mary Ellen Cuomo will work in the Sea Cliff office, in the community in which she resides. She previously held a similar position at Prudential Douglas Elliman in Greenvale. Lili Khorsandi, of East Hills, will work in the Roslyn office. She was previously a sales agent at Coldwell Banker Sobel in Roslyn Heights.
