The Child Care Council of Nassau, in Franklin Square, has added two members to its board of directors.
Chiara Ottomano of Long Beach is the executive director of Children's Nest Early Childhood Education Centers in Merrick and Wantagh.
Dr. Suanne Kowal-Connelly, a resident of Baldwin, is a clinical physician at Nassau Medical Associates in Freeport.

Meredith Afflixio of Bellerose has been promoted from an associate account executive to account manager at Didit, a marketing and public relations firm in Mineola.
EDUCATION
Stella Tsirka of Setauket has been appointed vice provost for faculty affairs at Stony Brook University. She is currently a professor in the pharmacology department at the university.
