Families to buy six new affordable homes in Roosevelt

The Town of Hempstead held a Thanksgiving-time lottery Monday to sell six newly constructed, affordably priced homes in Roosevelt to families in need. Each 1,500-square-foot house will be purchased from a developer for $160,000, which town officials say is half the market value. Read more about the lottery here.
