Historic Jamesport farmhouse for sale
A Greek revival-style farmhouse in Jamesport steeped in Long Island agricultural history is on the market for $649,900 in Jamesport.
Once part of a working farm belonging to the Tuthill family, the seven-room building, which predates 1858, is now being used as offices for Century 21 Albertson Realty, says Thomas Scalia, listing agent with that agency. While the former dining room, kitchen, family room and three bedrooms are now office space, the property is zoned for residential as well as agricultural and commercial use.
“All the plumbing is in place if someone wants to convert it back to a residence,” says Scalia.
The building now has three half-baths. Along with the house, there are three outbuildings on the 1.35-acre parcel -- an 1874 barn measuring 40-by-40 feet, a potato barn and a detached 1.5-car garage.
