Some Hamptons businessmen say they’ve been contacted by U.S. Justice Department investigators looking into the way the lucrative real estate business is run in the resort enclave on eastern Long Island.

Real estate broker Joe Kazickas said Tuesday he has an appointment to meet with investigators next week. Software businessman George Simpson said investigators spoke with him several weeks ago.

Simpson dropped a lawsuit he’d previously filed, accusing top Hamptons brokers of shutting out competition from smaller firms. He said he’s examining other options.

Simpson also contends an online listing service charges exorbitant fees that also helps squash competition.

A spokeswoman for the Justice Department’s antitrust division, Gina Talamona, declined to comment.
