Longfellow's Wayside Inn look-alike in Cutchogue for $595,000

A Cutchogue home on the market for $595,000 is modeled after the historic Longfellow’s Wayside Inn in Sudbury, Mass.
The home is listed with Richard Abatelli and Geralyn Lang of Abatelli Realty Co.
Seller Keith Dolan describes the house as a Massachusetts Cape. The house was built in 1968 by Dolan’s construction company, then under the direction of his late father.
“The angles of the rooms, the way the ceilings were made, the solid pine beams throughout -- it was all designed after the Wayside Inn,” he says.
The family room even has a tavern-style wet bar, modeled after the Wayside Inn’s tavern.
There’s also an old red brick traditional early American fireplace complete with two flues and a large brick chimney. Dolan’s father had the fireplace designed exactly after the fireplace at the inn. “He measured it, took the dimensions, and then had it built here,” he says. The fireplace also has a swing pot and a cutout bread warmer.
