Our colleagues over at Spin Cycle, the Newsday blog to read about Long Island politics, reported today that Rep. Steve Israel has put his Dix Hills home on the market for $649,966. The three-bedroom, two-bath Colonial hit the Multiple Listing Service of Long Island Sept. 1 with Jo Ann Boettcher of Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate. Although Marlene Budd, the Suffolk County Family Court judge and wife of the Democrat, says she will pull the house off the market if they do not receive an offer soon, the listing with Prudential doesn't expire until March 31.

Budd's ambivalence may come from the fact that she's done this before -- and in a better market. She and Israel bought the house in 2004 for $580,000, according to public records. The house was for sale for most of 2007, first for $749,000 and then for $699,999, real estate records show.

Built in 1975, the house is on a half-acre with a 19-by-37-foot heated inground pool with a Jacuzzi and a waterfall and a bluestone patio.
