A four-bedroom, four-bath postmodern home on 1.8 acres in Sagaponack has been sold for $6 million, according to the Long Island Real Estate Report. The Daniels Lane home was sold by the estate of the late Barbara Skydel, who died earlier this year at the age of 69. Skydel was a pioneering woman in the talent booking industry, having represented such legendary rock and roll acts as Tom Petty, the Pretenders, The Who, Keith Richards and Suzanne Vega. U2 frontman Bono once referred to Skydel as "Aunty Barbara", one of the people who, "always looked after us in America, from the days when were just paddies fresh off the boat." JAFFE FOR SALE. A quintessential Norman Jaffe-designed home in Sands Point has gone on the market for $8.999 million. Perched on two waterfront acres, the 9,500-square-foot home has seven bedrooms, eight full baths and three half-baths. But the showstopper is the cantilevered two-story wall of glass onto which the living room opens. The home was built in 1979. Ancillary rooms include a theater, a gym and a 5,000-bottle wine room. The current owners completed a total renovation within the past three years, and the multi-level landscaped property is next to the private golf course at the Village Club of Sands Point. "“It’s a fun and exciting house to be in," says listing agent Bonnie Doran of Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty. "Every room is a new surprise. The cantilevered living room is on a hill, and the stone, glass, and wood fit right into the environment.” There is second Norman Jaffe home for sale on the same street.
