A two-bedroom, one-bath Sound Beach bungalow, listed for $210,000, has been recently renovated and is being sold with most of its furniture — including its hammock.

“Someone could really use this as a weekend home on day one or as a first home,” says listing agent Amanda Eckart of Keller Williams Realty.

Built around 1930, the 1,072-square-foot house has been a family summer getaway since the early 1960s, says owner Rich Volpe, who fondly remembers “the love that was in the house.”

“On the weekends, we would pack the house. It was full of stories, a laugh every minute,” he says.

His wife’s grandfather was the first owner, Volpe says, and the home was passed along to his three daughters. When the last of the daughters passed away about a decade ago, Volpe and his wife, Joanie, decided to preserve and upgrade the bungalow.

During the past eight years, the kitchen, bathroom, wraparound stone patio and landscaping have been fully renovated, Eckart says. New siding, GAF Fiberglas shingles, a 30-year roof and Thermopane windows were added during that time, as was a new heating system.

Wood floors are found throughout the home, and new kitchen floor tiles were designed to evoke a throwback feel, says Eckart. Adding to the bungalow’s charm is a brass Honeywell thermostat used to control the new heating system.

Wicker living room furniture, bunk beds and bedding are among the furnishings included with purchase of the home, Eckart says.
