Why it’s for sale Larry, 43, a vice president of a marketing agency, and Jennifer, 31, a schoolteacher, recently had their first child, Luke, and would like to move closer to Luke’s grandparents.
When Larry purchased this eight-room split-level 11 years ago, he was single. In 2007, Larry, with the help of his friend Dante Paganini, a designer of DEP Design, completely renovated the house, which has four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Fortunately for Jennifer, the man cave project turned out to be a tasteful one. Larry says he incorporated his hobbies into the design. For instance, he created a wine and cigar room with built-in floor-to-ceiling refrigeration units and a high powered ventilation system. Sample features of the kitchen include stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, self-closing drawers and a radiant heat Italian tile floor. Outside, there is extensive decking with an outdoor kitchen and a swimming pool. A four-zone sound system throughout the house allows for a choice selection of music to play in various areas. (In Larry’s case, think Sinatra in the wine room and Caribbean music outside). Larry chats some more:
“It’s a very entertaining house with a homey feeling. We had Luke’s Bris here with 100 people ... There are different rooms to do different things. You can be in the cigar room smoking, or you can be in the steam shower, or you can have dinner outside. I call it my different outs ... The house also has two different feels — day mode and night mode. I have a lot of outdoor lighting and inside there is cove lighting above the moldings ... It has a much sexier appeal at night.”
