Two women from ABC's "The Bachelor/Bachelorette" franchise Thursday announced their engagements - to twin brothers.
DeAnna Pappas, 28, who starred in "The Bachelorette" season four in 2008, and Holly Durst, 27, who was eliminated in week four of the same year's "The Bachelor: London Calling," revealed their engagements in Us magazine yesterday. Stephen Stagliano, 26, proposed to Pappas in May, and his twin brother Michael Stagliano proposed to Durst in June.
Michael had been a contestant on 2009's "The Bachelorette" season five with Jillian Harris, and the brothers, the magazine said, met Pappas and Durst at a party for the accompanying special "The Bachelorette: The Men Tell All."
Us said the couples plan spring weddings that may be taped for a reality show called "Four Better, for Worse," though spokeswomen at ABC and at the show's production company, Warner Bros., each told Newsday they'd heard of no plans for such a show.
The latest Bachelorette, Ali Fedotowsky, 25, who got engaged to Roberto Martinez on the Aug. 2 finale of season six, tweeted to Pappas yesterday, "So exciting! Congratulations!!! We should share wedding planning tips :)" Pappas tweeted back, "LOVE to!!!"
Meanwhile, Pappas' ex-fiance, "Bachelorette" winner Jesse Csincsak, 28, himself recently proposed to Ann Lueders, 26, a contestant on "The Bachelor's" 2009 season 13 with Jason Mesnick, who was eliminated in the premiere. RadarOnline.com posted a video of the proposal on Tuesday, two days before Pappas' announcement.
Whether the Pappas/Durst weddings will be separate or done jointly is uncertain. Pappas told Us, "We're going to compromise on the wedding style. Holly's very girlie, pink and pearls," with Durst adding, "DeAnna likes fall colors: browns and oranges." But Durst also told People, "If we were to do it, we'd have two different ceremonies and one huge reception."
