Ben Platt, 'Dear Evan Hansen' Tony winner, gets engaged

"Dear Evan Hansen" Tony Award winner Ben Platt and "The Good Doctor" star Noah Galvin, who succeeded him in the title role of the acclaimed Broadway musical in 2017, have become engaged.
"He agreed to hang out forever," Platt, 29, posted on Instagram Friday, with photos of himself and Galvin, 28, at the Brooklyn rooftop restaurant Laser Wolf.
One photo showed a hand in close-up with an engagement ring. Galvin, posting the same four photos on his own Instagram, wrote, "I said yeehaw and then cried for like 7 hours."
Among the myriad well-wishers on Platt's page were Pulitzer- and four-time Tony Award-winning playwright-actor-composer Lin-Manual Miranda; Oscar and seven-time Emmy Award winner Allison Janney; fellow actors Rachel Brosnahan, D'Arcy Carden, Hilary Duff, Beanie Feldstein, Sarah Hyland, Milana Vayntrub and Rachel Zegler; former "Mad Men" co-stars January Jones and Kiernan Shipka; actor-writer-producer Mindy Kaling; singer Brandi Carlile; and singer-actor Cheyenne Jackson, who posted a seemingly endless string of smiling emoji with heart eyes.
