Bieber movie gets screening in Holtsville

The first outbreak of Bieber movie fever hit Long Island Wednesday night with a special screening in Holtsville of the teen idol's new movie, "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never."
The movie, a hybrid documentary-concert film, opens Friday. Midnight screenings are scheduled for Thursday at some Long Island theaters, including Nassau Metroplex 10 in Levittown and Raceway 10 in Westbury.
Last night's showing, screened at 300 theaters across the country, including the Island 16 Cinema de Lux in Holtsville, was part of a special promotion from Paramount Studios.
First-come, first-serve $30 tickets, that included special "Never Say Never" merchandise, sold out quickly after Bieber alerted fans in November via Twitter about the event.
The several hundred ticket holders - nearly all 8-to-14-year-old girls and their moms - wore VIP laminated badges that indicated they had the coveted tickets.
Kaitlyn Belcher, 14, of Centereach arrived with the goody bag that accompanied her tickets. It included sunglasses, a bracelet and a glo-stick "all colored purple," she added, "because that's Justin's favorite color."
Belcher said she has already seen Bieber live twice, but said she was looking forward to the film because of the 3-D.
Mackenzie Engeldrum, 13, of Hampton Bays, said she looked forward to all the behind-the-scenes footage featured throughout the movie. "I want to see what he's like in his normal life. I hear he's a prankster, so I'm hoping to see him pull some pranks on people."
And the movie did not disappoint. "It was amazing!" said Lexi Alfeo, 11, of Port Jefferson. "He was so cute. . . . it was like you were there with him! It was intense!"
