Jennifer Hudson on motherhood and acting
Motherhood has changed Jennifer Hudson -- including as an actress. In her new film, "The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete," she plays a heroin addict whose son is taken away from her. "You know, it helps me definitely connect to when I'm playing a mom better, even in this place when I'm playing a bad mom," Jennifer told Hollywood Life. "It made me think . . . I still felt for this child in that way, you know what I mean? And it helps me connect to playing a mother role. I think almost every role I've played I've had children . . . And it's always little boys, so it's like 'Oh OK, this is easy, 'cause I have a son, you know." Her son, Daniel, 4, has been a great source of inspiration, but she hopes to expand her family. "I want a little girl so bad, it's a dream," she said.
