Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who have been together six years and have six children -- three adopted and three biological, may finally be planning to wed.

"They are talking about getting married this summer," one of a trio of what Us magazine called well-placed sources said in its issue published Wednesday. "They are seriously considering it, but they may just do something on the fly, without any notice."

A second source told the magazine, "They're planning to do it in September." One possible site, the magazine said, was the couple's newly renovated Chateau Miraval in Correns, France, with a 16th-century chapel.

The impetus for any marriage plans for Jolie, 36, and Pitt, 47, would be their children: Maddox, 9; Pax, 7; Zahara, 6; Shiloh, 5; and twins Vivienne and Knox, 3. "The kids ask about marriage," Pitt told USA Weekend in May. "It's meaning more and more to them. So it's something we've got to look at."

If it were to happen, their wedding likely would not mimic the lavish Malibu, Calif., ceremony of Pitt and first wife Jennifer Aniston in 2000, with fireworks, 50,000 flowers, four bands and a gospel choir. Pitt and Jolie, said the source, are contemplating a ceremony that "would be intimate and informal. . . . Brad and Angelina think a big splashy wedding is tacky." Pitt and Jolie representatives didn't reply to requests for comment.
