Lady Gaga racks up more than 5.74M Twitter followers

There's a new Twitter queen: Lady Gaga.
Over the weekend, Ga passed Britney Spears for the title of most Twitter followers and hasn't looked back, though Spears remains right on her tail. Currently, Gaga has 5,745,061 followers, while Spears has 5,710,192.
To celebrate her new title, Gaga sent her followers a new video where she declares, "Hello world - this is Lady Gaga, queen of Twitter," said the star. "I wanted to thank all my beautiful little monsters for following me. Thank you for beginning my reign as Twitter queen.
"I vow never to partake in celebrity online shenanigans," Gaga continued, "and I vow to always tweet, and tweet again. . . . Just remember that I love you, and love yourself.
