Actress Lindsay Lohan says she may make her stage debut in a London production of the David Mamet play "Speed-the-Plow."

Lohan, 27, whose recent work includes the film "The Canyons" (2013) and the TV-movie "Liz & Dick" (2012), told The New York Times at a London fashion show that she has been in Britain for several months, preparing for what the newspaper characterized as "a potential appearance" in a West End production of the play in November.

"It's the first time I've done a stage play or anything like that," Lohan, originally from Merrick and Cold Spring Harbor, told the paper. "I'm nervous but I'm excited."

The three-person play, a 1988 Tony Award-nominee, follows Hollywood executives Charlie Fox and Bobby Gould as they negotiate to produce a film, with complications arising from Gould's temporary secretary, Karen -- originally played by Madonna in her only Broadway role.

Representatives for Lohan and Mamet did not respond to Newsday requests for comment.
