In her first interview since leaving rehab in January, Lindsay Lohan said she understands the film industry's concerns about her and affirms that her recovery from substance abuse is her chief priority.

Appearing composed and repentant on what seemed to be a first step toward career rehabilitation, she told the syndicated series "Extra," "I feel great, I feel happy. There's always things - bumps - that we have in the road. As long as I'm focusing on the one thing that I know I need to put first in my life, which is my recovering and stuff, I'm doing good, and that's the most important [thing] for me."

Part one of the two-part interview aired Tuesday night, with part two airing Wednesday night at 7 on NBC.

Lohan, 24, who faces a felony grand theft charge and other legal issues in Los Angeles, also spoke frankly about whether producers would or could hire her again in the near term, due to concerns about her insurability. The "Mean Girls" star vowed to take "the steps that I need to take to prove that I can be insurable again."

Asked by interviewer Jerry Penacoli if she had a "wish list" of people with whom she'd like to work, Lohan replied, "I think that will come in time, where I'll be in the position to even say that. Because I don't think I am right now."
