Lindsay Lohan OK after car, truck collide

Actress Lindsay Lohan was released from a Los Angeles hospital Friday shortly after being involved in a car crash on the Pacific Coast Highway.
Lohan, 25, who is in production on the Lifetime TV-movie "Liz & Dick," was "in an automobile accident today on her way to the set," her spokesman, Steve Honig, told Newsday Friday. "She was brought to Santa Monica UCLA hospital as a precaution. She is fine and was released less than two hours later and is already headed back to the set to resume work. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in the accident."
Santa Monica Police Sgt. Candice Cobarrubias told The Associated Press police were still looking into the 11:45 a.m. crash. The Los Angeles Times reported that officials said the actress' Porsche ran into the rear of a large truck. It was not yet clear who was driving the car, the newspaper said.
TMZ.com, which first reported the accident, said Lohan's car was totaled. The passenger window was shattered and debris was scattered on the road, the site said.
Eyewitnesses told TMZ that a second person in the car, believed to be Lohan's assistant, was bleeding and bruised and taken by ambulance to an emergency room, but Cobarrubias said no passenger was injured. TMZ said Lohan was not put into an ambulance but did not specify how she went to the hospital.
Lifetime spokesman Les Eisner told the AP, "First and foremost, we're concerned about the well-being of Lindsay and anyone else who may have been involved in the accident."He added, "Lindsay has been doing fantastic work on the set of 'Liz & Dick.' "
Production on the film started earlier this week and is expected to finish by the end of the month.
