Citing medical reasons, Mariah Carey has left Tyler Perry's film adaptation of the Tony Award-nominated play "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf" - reigniting rumors of a Mini-Mimi in the works.

The singer, 41, praised for her undiva-like performance as a social worker in the film "Precious," dropped out of the scheduled New York City summer shoot "because her doctor advised her not to" do the film, a Carey representative told Us magazine Thursday. "More than that I cannot comment further."

Carey's spokeswoman, Cindi Berger, told People magazine, "I'm not at liberty to discuss her personal life at this time."

Pregnancy rumors have swirled around her almost since the moment she married Nick Cannon, 29, in 2008. Last year Cannon said about starting a family, "We're going to do it, and when we do it we're going to let you all know. But right now, we're trying to enjoy the newlywed aspect."

This January he reiterated, "We absolutely plan to have a family. But we gotta prioritize, because that's a major, major priority. That's like the only priority in life, when you think about it, is starting and raising a family."

Then earlier this month, he told Us, "Her schedule is starting to calm down . . . In the next year or two, the rumors might come true."
