Michelle Williams, Jason Segel make romance public

Actors Jason Segel and Michelle Williams took their romance public Wednesday night at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of his new comedy, "The Five-Year Engagement."

While Williams did not appear with Segel on the red carpet at the Ziegfeld Theater in midtown Manhattan, she later joined him inside, said People magazine, where he gave her a kiss on the cheek as the movie ended.

At the Museum of Modern Art after-party, reported E!, the two held hands most of the evening, with "The Muppets" writer-producer-star Segel, 32, and three-time Academy Award nominee Williams, 31, mingling with his new movie's co-stars, including Emily Blunt and Kevin Hart. Segel whispered in her ear and escorted her around, E! said, while she planted small kisses on the cheek until the two were among the first to depart.

When asked specifically about Williams, with whom he has often been photographed, Segel told the TV show "Extra" on Tuesday, "I think I would just very much like to be happy. That's about all I have to say about it."

Some days earlier, said Us Weekly, Segel was seen holding his iPhone with pictures of Williams taped on the back and "I love you" written around the photos.

Segel was previously linked to actresses Michelle Trachtenberg and Linda Cardellini. Williams has a 6-year-old daughter, Matilda Rose, with the late actor Heath Ledger, from whom she split in October 2007.
