Natalie Portman, Benjamin Millepied wed in Calif.

Oscar-winner Natalie Portman and choreographer Benjamin Millepied, who were photographed at the Academy Awards in February wearing what many took to be wedding rings, have been married in California.

The couple exchanged vows Saturday night in a Jewish ceremony under a traditional chuppah at a private home near Big Sur, according to Us Weekly. People magazine added that the couple were surrounded by family and friends, including Ivanka Trump.

Portman, 31, who was raised mostly on Long Island and graduated from Syosset High School in 1999, is the daughter of Dr. Avner and Shelley Hershlag. Her father is chief of the Center for Human Reproduction, in the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System.

She and Millepied, 35, met in 2009 on the set of director Darren Aronofsky's "Black Swan," for which Portman won the Academy Award for best actress. Millepied was born in the Bordeaux region of France and raised in Dakar, Senegal, by a dance-teacher mother and a father who trained Olympic decathletes. He was choreographer for that psychological-horror film, set at a New York ballet company. Millepied had been recruited for the New York City Ballet at age 16 by Jerome Robbins.

Portman and Millepied were first spotted publicly as a couple at a New Year's Eve party in TriBeCa in December 2009, and at a dance performance at the Joyce Theater in Chelsea the following month. They announced their engagement in December 2010 and had a son, Aleph, in mid-2011.

After their Academy Award appearance this year, ring designer Jamie Wolf, also a former New York City Ballet dancer, told E! News: "The style of the rings by definition [is that of] wedding rings," adding, "I can neither confirm nor deny the marriage of Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied, as that is not information I am privy to. I designed rings for the couple and cannot attach meaning to those items."
