Simon Cowell was robbed of his wallet and a laptop in October by a woman he met at a nightclub, according to a new unauthorized biography due out Saturday.

The British newspaper The Sun, citing "Sweet Revenge: The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell" by Tom Bower, said "The X Factor" creator and music mogul, 52, had been drinking at the Hollywood nightclub Drai's. There, the paper said, he invited a woman to accompany him to a hotel room. The following day, Cowell discovered she had departed with his wallet and a computer containing private details about the Fox singing competition.

Police used security camera footage to help identify the woman, who agreed to return the computer but retained the cash in his wallet, the paper said.

A Fox spokeswoman did not return Newsday's request for comment.
